Assign phones to breakout groups

One phone per table: how the connection screen lists the tables as they scan, how a phone picks its group on the join screen, how to name groups, and what happens when two phones land on one table.

Assigning phones to breakout groups in RoomRadar means one phone per table, all scanning the same code. A conversation opens on its connection screen, "Koppla upp grupperna": the tables appear there as their phones scan, and each phone picks its table on one join screen. If you planned the tables in advance they are already listed, waiting. This guide covers naming the groups so they match the room, keeping it to one phone per table, and adding tables after the start.

The connection screen

Open a conversation (its row in the sidebar, or Öppna on its block in the plan) and it opens on the connection screen, not in the recording. The room code and QR code sit in a card at the top right; press the QR to show it large for the projector, with the link to share, a download menu and Fler sätt att ansluta under it (a bot for a digital group, this device's microphone, and Kopiera länk). On the left is the list of groups with a count against your account's group limit, "2 av 5 grupper" on Solo (the count alone when your account has none), and a small (i) beside it that names the plan with a bigger limit and links to your plans. A table you planned in the conversation's sheet is already a row, marked "inte uppkopplad" with its number greyed, until a phone takes it; a table whose phone is in says "hörs" once the phone hears the room, or "tyst" if it does not. Starta at the bottom of the screen stays disabled until at least one group is in and says so on hover: "Koppla upp minst en grupp först".

What the phone asks

Every phone that scans a workshop's code lands on the same join screen: "Välkommen tillbaka!" and "Vilken grupp är ni?" over the list of the workshop's tables. A row carries one quiet word when it has one to say: "väntar" for a planned table nobody has taken, "ansluten" for a table that already has a phone, "bortkopplad sedan 10:42" for a table whose phone dropped. The table this phone had in an earlier part is marked "Senast" and preselected. A phone waiting in the waiting room after the previous conversation does not even scan: when you open the next conversation's connection screen it connects as its table by itself, and the row on your screen says "hörs". A table that is not in the list yet types its name under Ny grupp. Fortsätt, and the phone is that table. A workshop whose plan has no tables yet skips the list on its first conversation: each phone is asked for a name instead, and the name it types is the table's name on your screen and on the Grupper page. Picked the wrong one? Behind the ⋮ beside the code on the phone sits Byt grupp for as long as the conversation runs (Lämna samtalet lives there too, with a confirm; the footer's one button is Vi är klara med samtalet): it opens the list of every table in the workshop, the other phones in this conversation included (its own table marked "Er grupp" and not pickable), and the pick moves this phone to the other table for this conversation; earlier parts keep what they had. Your screen gets one line, "En telefon bytte från Bord 1 till Bord 3.", with Ångra.

Keep it to one phone per table

A group is one phone. If a second phone at the same table scans the code and picks that table too, the two are one group: the connection screen and the sidebar say "2 telefoner" beside it, quietly, and the transcript is still one table's. Nothing needs fixing; if the second phone was a mistake, close its tab. When a table's phone dies mid-session, do not pick another table on the spare: scan the code, pick the same table (it reads "bortkopplad sedan 10:42"), and the spare continues that group with its whole history. Adding tables after the start

Once you press Starta the code card flies into the conversation's top-right menu. There, Anslut fler opens the same code page again for a table that arrives late: the QR, the code, the link to share, and under Fler sätt att ansluta the item Anslut digitala grupper, which lets a bot join a Zoom, Teams or Meet call as its own group beside the physical tables, and Anslut mikrofon, which makes this computer's microphone a group of its own (with the microphone already allowed, the list of sources opens at once). A microphone added in any conversation of a workshop gets a table of its own, as the phones do in the first one, so the next conversation carries it. A late phone lands on the same join screen and picks a waiting table or types a new name; the group appears in the sidebar the moment it is in.
